Our Company’s Primary Mission Is To Find Solutions That Reduce Swelling… and the Pain and Discomfort Associated With It
Chronic swelling can affect anyone – of any age – and at any point in that individual’s lifetime. This kind of swelling lasts over a period of time and is marked by frequent recurrences. Our company’s very first products were developed to address lymphedema, a particularly challenging form of chronic swelling.
Building on years of developing, learning from and continuously refining our Tribute product line for lymphedema and severe edema and our Swell Spots line of localized swelling areas – we recently introduced Joint Jackets, for the treatment of chronic (and acute) swelling conditions that are focused at one joint area or limb segment.
Chronic swelling has several causes… we’re here to help
Often, chronic swelling is associated with orthopedic conditions that may be the result of an inflammatory process resulting from the wear and tear (aging) of a joint – or because the joint may have become unstable because of a prior or reoccurring injury.
Here are a few examples:
tendintis also tendon·tis refers to inflammation of a tendon such as in carpal tunnel syndrome, golfer’s elbow and tennis elbow. Inflammation is a localized reaction characterized by pain, redness, swelling and commonly reduction in joint range of motion.
osteoarthritis refers to inflammation of a joint, usually accompanied by pain, swelling, and stiffness, and resulting from infection, trauma, degenerative changes, metabolic disturbances, or other causes.
sprains refers to an injury of the ligaments of a joint. Reoccurring sprains to a joint are usually accompanied by pain, swelling and reduction in joint stability and range of motion.
strains refers to an injury to a muscle or tendon from overuse or overexertion. Inflammation as part of the healing process is characterized by pain, redness, and swelling of the affected area.
swelling from disuse refers to swelling that develops after a CVA when there is a loss of muscle function.
